Soccer Season Rolls in

The BASIS Peoria Scorpions have yet again begun another soccer season. Last year, the team was split into two subsections, the A and B teams, and as a result of the split, the teams combined only won a single game. This year, the coaches decided to get rid of the duo squad system and stick to one group of players.

The team currently has 4-4 win-loss record, suffering two 8–0 losses against some of the best teams in the division: Madison Prep and Empower College Prep. The team’s one win against BASIS Scottsdale resulted from a forfeit because the team couldn’t attract enough players. On Sept. 17, the Scorpions faced Glenview Prep. It was the closest match thus far; the loss resulted from an own goal and a lack to take advantage of offensive opportunities.

The team, looking at their past mistakes, is ready to move forward and gain some more victories for BASIS Peoria.
