NBA Finals 2020

This year’s NBA Finals: Elation, Heartache, Blood, Sweat, and Tears.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS VS MIAMI HEAT – LAKERS WON THE SERIES 4 TO 2

This series was full-on domination by the Lakers. The Lakers came into this series as the favorites, and they lived up to the hype. The Miami Heat came into this series as the underdogs who shouldn’t have gotten this far, and they tried to put the doubters to sleep by playing well, but they could not get past the suffocating Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers had Anthony Davis and Lebron James to thank for this series win and the team’s 17th Championship. Lebron ended the series with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists per game, and AD ended the series with 25 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal per game. These two are becoming the next dynamic duo of the NBA, and I think I can speak for the rest of the league when I say: “God no, someone help us.” The Heat had Jimmy Butler to thank for keeping them alive in this series. Butler ended the series with 30 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals a game. The now-iconic picture of Jimmy Butler leaning over the barricade with his head hung low in exhaustion is the perfect image capturing everything that Butler put into this series. The only way for the Miami Heat to win this game was to contain Lebron James and AD while also having their star players play up to their potential. Neither happened. Lebron and AD had their way with the Heat, and on that same token, it seemed like the only player playing for the Heat was Jimmy Butler. Duncan Robinson for the Heat had a better playoff series than Bam Adeyo, who got injured early in the series, and Tyler Herro, who was underwhelming the entire series. But the Heat needs more than just two players playing their hearts out to win this series. On the other hand, the Lakers needed to contain the Heat’s star players if they wanted to win and that is exactly what they did. They also were able to adapt and overcome which is seemingly their motto for their playoff run this year. The Lakers have won another one for the city of Los Angeles; Lebron James has proven once again that he is the best in the league; AD got his first championship, and most importantly of all, the Lakers were able to win one for Kobe and Gigi.
