MLB World Series 2020

This year was filled with unprecedented events that truly shook the world off its foundation. Even with this crazy year, there were a couple of mainstays that gave people comfort and warmth in a time where that feeling was almost gone. One of those mainstays was the 2020 MLB World series and this article will highlight all the teams participating, the highlights, lowlights, sweeps, and everything in between.

WORLD SERIES: TAMPA BAY RAYS VS LA DODGERS, DODGERS WIN THE SERIES 4 TO 2

The series was essentially a small market team vs a big market team for dominance in the MLB. That right there should have told us who was going to win. The Rays were a good team that showed heart in games. Unfortunately, bad managerial decisions and a lack of money were the downfalls for the Rays. The bad managerial decision came game six when they took out Blake Snell after only allowing one run. Snell was having one of the best games of his life and was an absolute force on the mound. He was efficient, dominant, and untouchable by the Dodgers. He was on track to have a no-hitter until the 6th inning where he let the first hit for the Dodgers happen. One hit in six innings is amazing. Any moron on the street would have kept him in knowing that the Rays need this win to force game seven. Kevin Cash made one of the dumbest decisions one could make in this situation and took him out, effectively killing the Rays’ momentum and pushing the Dodgers to close out the game and win the Series. You bet Cash would kill to take this moment back. Also, the Rays just didn’t have the money to fully compete with a team like the Dodgers who had one of the most dominant teams in baseball with Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, Justin Turner, Corey Seager, and etc. The Rays had their fair share of monster players as well, but at the end of the day, it was just too much. Congrats to the Dodgers and a tough loss for the Rays.
